Additional Information

For close ready stance B the left hand is wrapped around the right fist and the right side fist is facing downward. The distance between the fists and the navel is about 15 centimeters. The feet are placed next to each other.

A rear foot stance is one shoulder width in length. The rear leg is bent until the knee comes over the toes and the front leg is bent with only the ball of the foot slightly touching the ground. Most of the body weight is distributed on the rear foot. When the right foot is in the rear, the stance is called a right rear foot stance. When the left foot is in the rear, the stance is called a left rear foot stance.

An upward block with the palm is meant to "spring up" an opponent's attack. The blocking palm should reach its point of focus at the defender's solar plexus. The elbow is bent about 35 degrees outward at the moment of the block. The blocking palm should reach the target in a circular motion.

A upper elbow strike is executed as a reverse strike. The target is the point of the opponent's chin. At the moment of impact the body becomes full facing with the side fist of the striking arm facing upward.

An upset punch with twin fist is used in attacking the target at close range. The fists must reach the target in a circular motion. Keep about 2 inches between the elbow and the body at the moment of impact. Also, keep the back fist (which is facing downward) slightly higher than the elbow at the moment of impact. A rising block with X-fist is to block an attack directed toward the head. The wrists must be crossed in the center of the forehead at the moment of the block.

A pressing block with the palm is used only when the defender wishes to check, rather than break the attacking hand or foot. In this pattern, the right palm is performing the upward block in the right walking stance and vice versa.

The low stance is used to extend the attacking tool. It is similar to the walking stance, though longer by one foot.

For an angle punch the fist reaches the plane of the opposite shoulder at the moment of impact.

A U-shape block is used to block a pole with the reverse knife-hand. Keep both hands in a vertical line at the moment of the block. The lower elbow should be flush with the hip while leaning the body slightly towards the target at the moment of the block.
